Jim Wait

Sales Representative

Jim's family moved to Prince Edward County in 1785.  They were some of the "County's" first settlers and Jim's family has been here ever since.  His roots run deep , and his knowledge of the County and it's homes and communities is vast.

Jim's family ran a summer tourist resort at the entrance to the original Outlet Provincial Park now renamed the "Sandbanks Provincial Park".  The business included 8 summer cottages, 60 campsites, a thriving grocery and gas station, a Dairy-bar, pony rides and horse back riding, all on a 200 acre farm. The farm supported the horses and ponies with hay and grain crops.   Like all farmers "back in the day", they repaired, maintained and built everything on the property.   Jim prides himself in saying "I can fix anything" and he usually tries.

Jim passed along many of these skills to his son, Dylan.  Now 22 years old,  Dylan recently joined the Canadian Air Force as an aviation technician, and Jim is very proud of Dylan's accomplishments in this endeavour.

When the Ontario government bought the farm Jim took the skills he had learned and went into the home renovation business.   He enjoyed smaller projects,  but was also on several new builds of single family homes and some large construction projects outside of the County.   He understands the building envelope from "hands on experience".

His passion had been real estate and he has bought and sold a number of his own investment properties .  In the mid 1990's he started work as a full-time Realtor with  Re/Max in Picton.   With his knowledge of homes and his community he has been one of the top selling agents in Prince Edward County from the first year he started in the business.  He continues to raise the bar every year,  especially now with the inclusion of his new "mates" into his business, Darlene Eldridge and Mark Davis.

Jim was once an avid curler. Although his curling days are now behind him, he did compete at some of the highest levels in the province.  He has since hung up his broom and prefers pastimes in warmer environs.   His greatest accomplishment is meeting and marrying Anne in 2010 and they enjoy traveling, dining and golf (in Naples, Florida).

His real passion is his commitment to Rotary. Jim is a past president of Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow.

If you are considering purchasing a home in Prince Edward County you will be challenged to find anyone with greater knowledge and experience, not only in real estate itself, but also in finding a quality built home.

We look forward to hearing from you
